Which COVID-19 vaccine will I receive?
CDC recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older be vaccinated for protection against COVID-19. Details on which vaccines are available for each age group and how to stay up to date on recommended COVID-19 vaccines can be found on the CDC’s Stay Up to Date with COVID-19 Vaccines page. The Vaccination Clinic is currently administering the following vaccine type(s):
- Moderna/Spikevax COVID-19 2024-2025 monovalent vaccine for individuals ages 6 months+
What should I expect during my vaccination appointment?
- Please reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
- Facial coverings are currently optional when visiting the Boise State Vaccination Clinic.
- You will be able to download or receive a paper copy of the fact sheet that tells you more about the specific COVID-19 vaccine you are being offered. Each authorized COVID-19 vaccine has its own fact sheet that contains information to help you understand the risks and benefits of receiving that specific vaccine.
- Information will be provided to you about V-safe— an optional, free, smartphone-based tool that lets you check-in with the CDC after you get vaccinated for COVID-19. You can quickly tell the CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Depending on your answers, someone from the CDC may call to check on you and get more information. V-safe will also remind you to get your next COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one.
- It’s normal to have mild to moderate side effects for a few days after getting a vaccine.
- It takes time for your body to build immunity and protection after any vaccination. You are considered immune two weeks after you get your last dose (second dose in a two-dose series or one dose of a single-dose vaccine) of the vaccine.
How much will vaccines cost?
